The GRAND Room!!!

I decided to start with the Living room since it was the largest project and because it turned out so good!!! Below are pictures of from start to finish. And let me just first say that this room needed a make-over 10 years ago. It looked like a mobile home. Seriously, right down to the strips that hide the seams on the wall. We started on a Friday evening around 4 o'clock pm by taking down all the strips and then caulked in all the gaps around the rooms. After that we textured the walls with sheet rock mud and really made it chunky. Once that was done (and we also did the kitchen and dinning room) we stopped for a short break around 4 am... notice Leah and Debra resting on the job!! LOL. However it didn't last long. Leah and I went for some coffee and when we returned we started painting.... Debra went home around 5 am and we kept rolling the paint! HAHA!! Once the paint dried we came back over it with a glaze and wiped it down with a damp cloth. This really showed all the cracks and chunks of the texture. And once we painted the trim and covered up the teal line at the ceiling we thought we were done.... but not a chance... the wood stove was more of an eye sore than we had first seen. That's when we had to call in the reinforcements. Tommy came and built a frame for the stove to sit on and tiled it with the same tile that will be used in the hall and bathroom. Then we took panels of rock and put them on the wall behind the pipe on the stove. Once it was up it looked so much better but we weren't done yet!!!!! Leah and I mixed up some mud and smeared it in to the cracks to make it look like real rock. We then glazed it with the same brown glaze we used on the walls!! The finished product is AWESOME!!!! if I do say so myself. P. S. We worked on the the house from 4 pm on Friday until 8 pm on Sat with no sleep..... And showed back up Sunday to keep going!! But after we were done and the carpet was laid we got back to work decorating it!!! And it looks Fabulous!!! The pictures below do not do it justice!!!! I love this house and can't wait til the next project!!

Who are we???

Who are we? We are Fairytales by Leah and Candi. But really who are we...

Leah Lovelis and Candi Campell. We are two friends that you could say have a knack for creating new life in old things and sometimes we just create new life!! For the past 3 years Leah has had a small business on the side decorating and doing some arrangements. She's always had an eye for color and furniture placement. I recently with in the last 6 months started refinishing furniture and giving it a new life. But it wasn't until Leah and her husband Matt bought a new place that we decided to start putting our talents together. On this blog you will see some of our individual pieces along with our remodel / redesign projects that we tackle together. We are always open for new and exciting things and can't wait for the next project. If you have any old furniture that you might want redone or maybe you just don't need it anymore, give us a call and we'd love to look at it.
